Professional Background & Qualifications

I gained my first degree in Psychology from Cardiff University in 1993.  I went onto qualify as a Clinical Psychologist from the Lancashire Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course in 1998.

Since qualifying I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS, initially with children and adolescents in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and for the last 18 years, with adults with moderate and severe mental health problems (including PTSD and effects of trauma, low mood, eating and body image issues, anxiety and OCD).  For the past eight years I have combined this work with my private practice offering psychological therapy to adults and adolescents (16 years plus) with a range of mild to moderate emotional and psychological difficulties.

I have completed training and am an accredited practitioner in EMDR (EMDR Works: 2013), and have trained in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (Psychwire: 2019), and Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (Marsha Lineham Institute: 2014).
